Anonymous asked: I'm Asian, and I was dating a guy who is white, and he told me that he "wouldn't want to have sons with me, only daughters, because I think Asian guys are ugly." He also repeatedly told me "Asian guys are gay" and once told me eating tofu is gay. My Asian friends said it was definitely racist but some of my white friends said that the first statement was merely "an aesthetic choice." Racist or not?
(Backstory:
My best friend Bonnie moved to New Mexico to train horses a little over a year ago. It's a very hard job and is making her miserable, but she still loves it enough to stick it out.)
Me:
So eventually it'll either get better or it'll be obvious that you need to come back.
Bonnie:
Yeah. I guess.
Me:
And you'll know when it's one or the other.
Bonnie:
Yeah.
Me:
You know, you're going to have to wake up one of these days and realize that your crazy horse dream isn't going to happen and you're going to have to settle for being an actor.
Bonnie:
I know.
Me:
I mean, when we were little we ALL wanted to be horse trainers.
Bonnie:
Yep.
Me:
But the rest of us have grown up and accepted that we have to be in the entertainment industry instead.
Bonnie:
I know.
Me:
When are you gonna pull your head out of the clouds?
Bonnie:
I don't know.
Me:
You damned crazy dreamer! Get your feet on the ground!
